As the doors began to open with friends introducing us to the perfect property, now known as The English Barn at Lily Creek Farm, I knew God had a plan. Our first wedding took place in April of 2021. We felt a flood of emotions as we opened the doors and that passion continues today. The Lord has truly blessed us even though we are so undeserving, and we are so very thankful for what HE has given us. We believe family is a very important part of life, so we wanted to build a place to help you celebrate all of life’s most important events!

Our father, Edgar Howe, helped launch this incredible initiative program with David Wilkerson, with early support from generous donors like Art Linkletter, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.
Today, Teen Challenge has grown into a global organization with a strong Christian foundation to helping individuals overcome addiction and finding lasting transformation.

My wedding was on 8/23/25 and we had our reception at The English Barn. Our entire experience from start to finish was absolutely phenomenal. Jane, Paul, & Jessica were so fun to work with. Everybody here is incredibly kind and thoughtful through every step of the way. Jessica even hand stitched my husbands pants when they ripped all the way down in the back lol. The English Barn is the most beautiful venue in the KC Metro in my opinion. I heard lots of my guests talking about how beautiful this venue is. My wedding day was everything and more that I’ve ever dreamed of thanks to the hard working team at The English Barn. If you’re thinking about having your wedding here you should 100% do it! You won’t regret a thing!!

My wife and I got married at The English Barn and everything was absolutely perfect. We had 4 tours set up for different venues but cancelled the rest after our first meeting with Jane. The grounds are immaculate and we had a beautiful outdoor wedding with a cocktail hour in the garden and an indoor reception afterwards that comfortably sat 160. Our planner Jessica made everything easy for us and we were able to figure out the layout, linens, and decor in just a few meetings. She and Jane also assisted with recommendations for lodging and transportation. We would choose The English Barn again in a heartbeat!

I fell in love with The English Barn the moment we drove onto the property for our tour. You can tell there was so much thought and love poured into every detail of this place. There is SO MUCH to think about and worry about when you first dive into wedding planning, but from our first meeting with Jane, she put us at ease with how much her and her team would be dedicated to giving us the best day possible while taking a lot off our plates. I am so thankful to have her, Paul, and the fabulous staff at English Barn who allowed us to truly be present and enjoy what turned out to be the most perfect day! Jane was an incredible coordinator and I don't know what we would have done without her. She was there through the whole planning process and gave me guidance on choosing the right vendors, creating the best flow of the day, and make sure we included everything that was important to us. She also took my inspiration photos and ideas and knocked it out of the park with decor all while staying within a reasonable budget.
I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a unique fairytale-esque hidden gem of a location right here in Kansas but feels like a destination venue! And if you have no idea where to start with planning like me or just want to be able to have a worry-free day, their planning services are amazing!
